A Joyful Moment Amidst Challenges
On Children’s Day, we had the opportunity to bring joy to the children at University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH) Enugu, Nigeria. We met with more than 30 kids, and it was a moment that will be etched in our memories forever. As one of the kids said, “Today, I am happy,” – a testament to the impact of small gestures in their lives. The atmosphere was filled with laughter, kisses, and warm hugs, making the challenges of the hospital setting momentarily fade away.
Organizing a heartwarming outreach to the paediatric ward is more than a visit; it’s a mission to spread joy and restore hope to children battling illness. We are glad to make this day special for them!
Supporting Children in Need
As part of our Children’s Day outreach campaign at University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH), on 27th May, 2025 our team had the privilege of interacting with over 30 children and their families, whose stories touched our hearts. This event was a poignant reminder of the struggles many families face in providing medical care for their children. In this blog post, we’ll share specific cases that highlight the urgent need for support.
Case 1’s Story
A mother shared with us the heartbreaking journey of her child, who has been battling Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Despite their resilience, the family is struggling to cover the mounting medical bills. As of our visit, they had already spent N1.2 million on two platelets, and another platelet is urgently needed at a cost of N600,000 to facilitate the child’s continuation of chemotherapy. The family has been admitted to the hospital for over a year, and their parameters are yet to be complete. Click here to watch the mother’s story.

A young boy’s seemingly minor tooth problem escalated into a cancerous threat earlier this year. After developing a fever and a growth in his gum, his condition rapidly deteriorated. The family traveled from Asaba to Enugu for treatment, but their struggles are compounded by the lack of a support system in the state.
