Every morning, many children in our communities walk into classrooms with empty stomachs. Hunger doesn’t just affect their health; it steals their focus, their confidence, and their chance to learn.
We are delighted to introduce our latest impactful initiative, the Back to School – Feed A Child Campaign focused on combating hunger among schoolchildren and promoting equal access to education through proper nutrition.

About the Project
At Queen Precious Nwodo Foundation, we believe no child should have to study on an empty stomach. Our Feed A Child Campaign targets 168 students of SS Simon and Jude Nursery and Primary School, Aguabor, Enugu East Local Government Area, Enugu State, which is set to launch in October 2025 and will continue for the next 12 months, spanning the entire year. These children come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, with many attending school without breakfast or lunch, facing malnutrition and food insecurity daily.
This campaign aims to provide nutritious, healthy meals during the school term, ensuring that no child is left hungry during classroom learning. We recognise that good nutrition enhances concentration, academic performance, attendance, and overall well-being.
Campaign Objectives
1. Provide daily nutritious healthy lunch for 168 vulnerable children.
2. Promote good health and learning through access to balanced meals.
3. Alleviate short-term hunger and improve attendance and academic performance
4. Foster hope, dignity, and confidence in these young learners.
Rationale
Many children in Nigeria, particularly those from low-income backgrounds, often come to school on an empty stomach or suffer from malnutrition. This situation hinders their ability to learn effectively, impacts their health, and diminishes their future prospects. By providing these children with nutritious meals, we aim support their overall development and future prospects. With 1 in 3 children in Nigeria facing severe food poverty and hunger levels worsening due to rising food costs, your donation can help provide the nourishment these children desperately need.

Why This Project?
Too many children in rural communities face the harsh reality of learning on empty stomachs. Hunger affects their ability to concentrate, participate, and thrive academically. With this campaign, we are not just feeding their bodies but nourishing their futures, ensuring every child can learn, dream, and excel. By feeding a child, you contribute to breaking the cycle of poverty and illiteracy while promoting good health and educational success. This aligns with the UN SDGs (SDG 2: Zero Hunger, SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 3: Good Health & Well-being)
