Celebrating a Child, Sharing a Smile

On Wednesday, 27th May 2026, the Queen Precious Nwodo Foundation (QPNF) successfully hosted the 3rd Edition of its annual Children’s Day Outreach, themed “Celebrate a Child, Share a Smile,” in Edem Nike Autonomous Community, Enugu East Local Government Area, Enugu State, Nigeria
What began three years ago as a vision to create memorable experiences for children has grown into a highly anticipated community event impacting hundreds of children annually. This year’s edition exceeded all expectations as over 1,000 children attended the outreach, more than double our initial projection of 500 participants.
The event brought together children, parents, community leaders, partners, volunteers, sponsors, and well-wishers in a colourful celebration filled with learning, culture, entertainment, and empowerment.
A Warm Community Welcome
The Foundation was warmly received by the people of Edem Community. We express our sincere gratitude to the traditional ruler (Igwe), community leaders, parents, and residents who welcomed us and supported the successful execution of the outreach. See video here

Opening Ceremony
The event commenced with an opening prayer led by Pastor Igbokwe, committing the day’s activities into God’s hands.
This was followed by the introduction of guests, sponsors, partners, and dignitaries in attendance.
The official welcome address was delivered by Barrister Chukwu Onyinye, who represented the Founder and President of the Queen Precious Nwodo Foundation, Queen Precious Nwodo.
Barrister Onyinye, a distinguished legal practitioner, Barrister of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, and Legal Practitioner in the Office of the Honourable Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Enugu State, delivered a powerful message emphasising the importance of investing in children, nurturing their dreams, and creating opportunities for them to thrive.
Her inspiring remarks set the tone for an unforgettable day.

The Queen Mother Inspires the Children
One of the most memorable moments of the event was the special appearance of the Queen Mother.
She delivered words of wisdom, encouragement, and hope to the children and was honoured in a grand and well-deserved manner. Her presence brought warmth and inspiration to the gathering, and her interaction with the children was one of the day’s highlights.

Community Reflections
The success of Children’s Day Outreach 3.0 was not only measured by the number of children in attendance but also by the heartfelt feedback received from members of the host community.
Mrs. Ann Nwadiuto Anike, a respected community leader and representative of Jesus Never Fail Prayer Ministry Worldwide, described the outreach as “excellent” and commended the Foundation for bringing such a unique celebration to Edem Nike Autonomous Community.
Speaking about the event, she shared that the Quiz Competition was the aspect that impressed her the most, noting the enthusiasm and active participation displayed by the children.
According to her, the outreach brought tremendous joy to the entire community and created a memorable Children’s Day celebration for families across Edem.
In her words:
“First of all, I want to thank the Queen Precious Nwodo Foundation for bringing such a unique and beautiful event to my community, Edem Nike Autonomous Community, Enugu State, and also to my ministry, Jesus Never Fail Prayer Ministry Worldwide. It was the first time in the history of our community hosting such a unique event, especially by the Queen Precious Nwodo Foundation. May God Almighty continue to guide and protect the Foundation, the volunteers, partners, and everyone who made time to be part of this great event.”
She also applauded the children for their enthusiasm, adding that they performed actively and wonderfully throughout the celebration, making the day even more remarkable.


Educational and Intellectual Activities
QPNF remains committed to promoting learning and intellectual development among children.
This year’s outreach featured:
Quiz (Q&A) Competition
The Quiz (Q&A) Competition challenged the children’s knowledge, confidence, and ability to think quickly under pressure. Participants demonstrated remarkable brilliance, enthusiasm, and teamwork throughout the competition, making it one of the audience’s favourite educational activities of the day.
The outstanding performers were:

Spelling Bee Competition
The spelling bee competition showcased the intelligence, confidence, and academic abilities of participating children.
Contestants demonstrated impressive spelling skills across various categories, with winners receiving recognition and prizes.
Spelling Bee Competition – Category One
The first category of the Spelling Bee Competition showcased the confidence and academic excellence of our younger participants. The contestants impressed the audience with their courage and spelling abilities.
The winners were:

- 🥉 3rd Place: Eziokwu Chikamso
Spelling Bee Competition – Category Two
The second category featured another exciting round of competition, where participants displayed excellent vocabulary and composure.

- 🥈 2nd Place: Christian Vivian
- 🥉 3rd Place: Onyeche Gift
Spelling Bee Competition – Category Three
The senior category produced an impressive display of confidence, intelligence, and determination. The participants competed exceptionally well, making the judges’ decisions highly competitive.

- 🥈 2nd Place: Chizaram Pascalene
- 🥉 3rd Place (Joint): Nweze Victory and Emekani Chimamanda Favour
Debate Session
The debate competition encouraged critical thinking, public speaking, confidence, and teamwork.
The participating children amazed guests and volunteers with their eloquence, creativity, and ability to express their opinions on important topics.
The session reinforced our belief that today’s children are tomorrow’s leaders.


Voices of the Future
One of the most inspiring aspects of the outreach was listening to the dreams and aspirations of the children themselves.
During interviews conducted at the event, several participants confidently shared their experiences, future ambitions, and words of appreciation.
Among them was Oguh Dionne Chiamaka, who spoke passionately about how much she enjoyed the celebration. She expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Foundation, sponsors, and volunteers for organizing such a memorable event and shared her dreams for the future with confidence and optimism.
Her interview served as a beautiful reminder that every investment made in a child’s life today contributes to building a brighter tomorrow.
Another remarkable participant, Frank Okonweke, shared his aspiration of becoming a scientist because of his passion for research and discovering solutions that can improve lives.

He also expressed how happy and excited he felt to be part of the Children’s Day celebration, describing the outreach as one of the most enjoyable experiences he had ever attended.
Their stories perfectly reflect the mission of the Queen Precious Nwodo Foundation—to inspire hope, nurture dreams, and empower the next generation of leaders.

Cultural Heritage on Display
A major highlight of the event was the vibrant cultural performance presented by the children.
The performances celebrated Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage through traditional music, dance, attire, and storytelling.
The audience was captivated by the colourful displays, energetic dance routines, and cultural pride exhibited by the young performers.



Storytelling Session
Children participated in engaging storytelling sessions designed to entertain, educate, and inspire. The stories encouraged values such as kindness, honesty, hard work, courage, and respect.
Speech Presentation
A special Children’s Day speech highlighted the significance of the celebration, emphasizing the importance of nurturing, protecting, and empowering every child to reach their full potential. The presenters also encouraged the children to continue believing in themselves, keep learning, and keep shining as future leaders. The speech was delivered by Oguh Dionne Chiamaka, Obiora Emmanuella, and Okafor Ifechukwu.
Fashion Parade
The fashion parade brought excitement and glamour to the event.
The children confidently showcased beautiful outfits while displaying remarkable poise, confidence, and stage presence.
Their energy and enthusiasm earned loud cheers from the audience.

The Fashion Parade was one of the most colourful highlights of the celebration. The children confidently showcased their creativity, elegance, and confidence on stage while proudly displaying their beautiful outfits.

The outreach featured numerous recreational activities designed to ensure that every child had a memorable experience. Activities included:
Egg Race Competition
The Egg Race brought excitement, laughter, and healthy competition to the event. Children carefully balanced their eggs while racing toward the finish line, cheered on by fellow participants, parents, volunteers, and guests.

The competition encouraged concentration, patience, and resilience while creating unforgettable memories for everyone present.
Chair Dance Competition
The Chair Dance Competition filled the venue with excitement, music, and nonstop laughter. The children’s enthusiasm and competitive spirit transformed the game into one of the day’s most entertaining moments.

Choco Tee Game Demonstration
One of the most exciting and unique activities of the day was the Choco Tee Game Demonstration sponsored by Checkers Nigeria.
Children were challenged to prepare a cup of Choco Tee in the shortest possible time using cups, spoons, water, and Choco Tee sachets.
The competition generated tremendous excitement as participants raced against one another amidst cheers from the audience.
The activity combined fun, learning, teamwork, and healthy competition while creating unforgettable memories for the children.


Choco Tee Competition Winners
Sponsored by Checkers Nigeria, the Choco Tee Competition quickly became one of the most anticipated activities of the outreach. Participants raced against time to prepare the fastest cup of Choco Tee, demonstrating speed, accuracy, and excitement while entertaining the audience.

Special Appearance by Barney and Mickey Mouse
Adding extra excitement to the celebration were beloved children’s characters, Barney and Mickey Mouse.

Their appearance brought immense joy to the children, who eagerly interacted, danced, took photographs, and celebrated alongside their favourite characters.
The smiles and excitement generated by this segment were truly priceless.
Cake Cutting Ceremony
The Children’s Day celebration would not have been complete without the ceremonial cake cutting.
The moment symbolised celebration, unity, love, and appreciation for the children.
Children gathered around with excitement as the cake was officially cut amidst cheers and applause.



Feeding Over 1,000 Children
A major component of the outreach was ensuring that every child was well-fed and cared for throughout the event.

A Record-Breaking Attendance
One of the most remarkable achievements of Children’s Day Outreach 3.0 was the overwhelming turnout.
Although the Foundation planned for approximately 500 children, over 1,000 children attended the outreach.
