QPNF Returns to Taraba with “Pad A Girl 2.0” to Empower Girls Through Menstrual Hygiene and Puberty Education

Jalingo, Taraba State — In a bold and inspiring effort to combat period poverty and uplift young girls, the Queen Precious Nwodo Foundation (QPNF) successfully held the second edition of its Pad A Girl outreach in Huwai Secondary School, Jalingo, Taraba State.

The event, tagged “Pad A Girl 2.0”, was organized by the QPNF Taraba Chapter to promote menstrual hygiene management and puberty education among vulnerable girls in schools and underserved communities. With dozens of young girls in attendance, the outreach featured a powerful blend of educational talks, practical demonstrations, confidence-building activities, and even interactive fun sessions.

More than just distributing sanitary pads, the program aimed to increase school presence, boost self-esteem, and eliminate the stigma surrounding menstruation. This impactful outreach was fully sponsored by Molped Nigeria, whose generous donation of sanitary pads made it possible for us to reach and support these deserving girls with dignity and care.

Checkers Custard delighted the students with packs of their nutritious custard. Nani Boi, the storyteller, contributed inspiring storybooks, Six JS Foundation supported with exercise notebooks for the girls, and RootHub also supported with comic books promoting online safety and tech education. The girls were not only educated but also empowered to embrace their bodies and futures with pride and confidence.

Speaking about the mission behind the project, the Foundation reiterated its commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly:
Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being
Goal 7: Affordable and Clean Energy
Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals

The event was filled with smiles, joy, and a renewed sense of purpose. The enthusiastic participation of students, the unwavering support from teachers who remained present throughout the program, and the dedication of QPNF volunteers brought the vision to life in the most heartwarming way.

“This is more than just a project,” said a QPNF representative, “It’s a movement to break barriers, educate our girls, and help them thrive. Every girl deserves dignity—and education should never be hindered by her period.”

QPNF extends its heartfelt appreciation to Huwai Secondary School, its incredible teachers, volunteers, and all partners who supported the outreach. The Foundation is open to partnerships, sponsorships, and collaborations to scale this impact even further.
